About Us

Welcome to Blessed Beginnings: A Legacy of Faith, Love and Family

Welcome to Blessed Beginnings National Adoption Agency, where love, faith, and dedication to children and families are at the heart of everything we do. Our story began over four decades ago with Don and Margaret Heacock, founders of the Holy Cross Child Placement Agency, who devoted their lives to ensuring that every child finds a loving, stable home. Today, we proudly carry their legacy forward under the leadership of Roxanne Coogler continuing their mission with the same compassion and integrity that has touched countless lives.

Creating Lasting Connections Through Love, Faith, and Community

At Blessed Beginnings, we believe that every child deserves a loving home and that every family deserves unwavering support. Our journey started with a simple but powerful mission: to create lasting connections between birth mothers and adoptive families that lead to a lifetime of love, joy, and fulfillment. What began as a small, community-driven initiative has now grown into a nationwide adoption agency, but our values remain rooted in compassion, faith, and the belief in the strength of community.

Guiding Every Step of Your Adoption Journey with Faith and Compassion

We are committed to offering personalized, faith-based guidance to everyone involved in the adoption process—from the courageous birth mothers to the families opening their hearts and homes. Every adoption is a story of new beginnings, and we are here to guide you through every step of this life-changing journey.

Building a Future of Love, Faith, and Endless Possibilities Together

Thank you for being part of our story. Together, we continue to create a future filled with love, faith, and endless possibilities.

The Importance of Preparation

When couples first begin the adoption process, it’s common to focus on the paperwork. While the paperwork is certainly important, once a child is in your home, you’ll quickly realize that the training and preparation for the journey ahead are equally essential. Our goal is to help make the administrative side of things easier, so you can focus on what really matters—preparing your heart, home, and support system for welcoming a new child into your family.

Our Organizational System

We’ve developed an organizational system to help streamline the home study process, making it easier to manage and helping you focus on the more meaningful aspects of adoption. This system draws on professional experience and guidelines from trusted sources like the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Child Welfare Information Gateway. Keep in mind, however, that adoption laws and requirements vary by state, and each agency or lawyer may have unique guidelines, which is why we’ve included sections for agency-specific and miscellaneous documents.

Navigating the Home Study Process

If you’re looking at the home study requirements and feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of paperwork, you're not alone. Even the most organized individuals find this task daunting. With many moving parts, including reliance on external agencies and government processes, it can feel like a challenge. But that’s where we come in.

Embracing the Journey

No matter how a child comes into your home, it’s both a miracle and a significant learning experience. This system is designed to help you navigate the process with confidence and organization. Your social worker will appreciate the clarity of a well-organized file, and you’ll feel more prepared for the journey ahead.

We hope this home study organizer helps bring you peace and assurance as you move forward with your adoption journey!

How To Use This Organizer

  • A 2-inch, 3-ring binder (grab one with a sleeve on front to place your title page for a
    lovely cover)
  • Folders with holes to fit your 3-ring binder (at least 12)
  • Dividers with Labels to mark sections for easy access to your information (at least
    12)
  • A three ring hole punch (for your organizational papers, NOT your documents)
    Pens
  • Your agency’s checklist and fee schedule
  • You are going to start with your Home Study Organizer and then add your dividers
with labels. After you have those in place, put your folders in their place. Take your
agency’s checklist and place it just after your Home Study Documents. Then, take
your agency’s fee schedule and place it just after the Schedule divider page. Now
    you are ready to begin.
  • Add important dates to your calendar. Note your agency’s fee schedule and
checklist as you begin scheduling and adding important dates.
  • What has to be done first? Use your lists to organize your process.
  • Schedule your appointments according to your prioritized lists. Begin gathering
your documents and make notes if they need to be copies, notarized,
    authenticated, etc.
  • Set aside time each week to review your progress. This will help you stay organized
and ensure you are on track with all requirements and deadlines.
  • Reach out to your agency or support groups if you need assistance or have
questions. They are there to help you through this journey.
  • Be prepared for unexpected changes or delays, and adjust your plans as needed.
Flexibility is key in the adoption process.

We’re here to help you every step of the way!

Whether you’re a birth mother considering adoption, an adoptive family starting your journey, or someone interested in supporting our mission, we’d love to hear from you.
