Medical Expenses

Medical costs can be a significant concern, but assistance is available. You can receive help with medical expenses, ensuring you have access to the healthcare you need throughout your pregnancy.

Free Counseling

Making the decision about adoption is deeply personal and can be emotionally challenging. You have the right to free counseling and personal attention to your individual situation and needs. Right to Privacy

Choose or Meet Adoptive Family

You have the autonomy to choose and/or meet the adoptive family. This decision is entirely up to you, allowing you to determine what is best for you and your baby. You may learn about Blessed Beginnings-approved waiting families by reading their letters, viewing their photos, communicating by telephone, or meeting them in person.

Receive Photos and Letters

Staying connected in some way can be important. You can receive photos and letters about your child as they grow up, depending on the type of adoption arrangement you choose.

Post Birth Financial Support

Your support does not end at birth. You can receive post-birth financial support to help you transition after delivery.

Private Adoption

Private adoption allows for the baby to go directly to the adoptive family, providing a seamless transition and peace of mind.

You Do Not Have to Go to Court

Eligibility to Adopt Baby

When considering adoption, it’s important to be prepared for a home study. Here are the typical components you should expect:

  • Documentation

    You'll need to gather several key documents, including: Birth certificates, Marriage certificates, if applicable Driver's licenses, Social Security cards and Financial statements

  • Criminal Background Checks

    Expect checks of: State and federal criminal records and Central registry for abuse and neglect

  • Interviews

    Interviews will be conducted with: All household members over the age of four and Any adult children of the applicants

  • Medical Statements

    You will need to provide: Medical reports detailing the health of all household members

  • Home Inspection

    Your home will be evaluated for: Fire safety through a local or state inspection and General safety to ensure it is baby-proofed

  • References

    Prepare to provide: Three references from people who are not related to you and do not live with you

  • Training

    You'll need to show: Proof of completing required preservice training

The home study must be conducted by a licensed social worker and should be completed
within six months of submission to USCIS.
